Individual Cherry Almond Crisps




My favorite desserts are individually baked and served. I love mini desserts. Instead of cake, I prefer cupcakes, and instead of a slice of pie I enjoy my own single serving in a ramkin. If you prefer to bake this up as a regular pie, by all means do so. But I'm going to go the ramkin route!

This recipe was orignally by The Pioneer Woman, although I changed it a bit because I couldn't find frozen tart cherries anywhere on this island!!! For the original recipe, click here.



Individual Cherry Almond Crisps

Makes 6-8 individual servings




  • 1 C Flour
  • 1/2 C Sugar
  • 1/2 C Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 dash Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1-1/2 stick Cold (salted) Butter, Cut Into Pieces
  • 1/2 C Slivered Almonds



  • 2 Cans Cherry Pie Filling
  • 2 tsp Almond Extract



  • 4 bags (12 Oz. Size) Frozen Tart Cherries
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 tsp Almond Extract




Preheat oven to 350


1.  Combine all ingredients for crumb mixture except for butter and almonds. Cut the butter in using a fork or pastry blender, until coarse crumbs form. Stir in almonds. Set aside.


2.  In a seperate bowl, stir together cherry filling and almond extract (OR stir together frozen cherries, cornstarch, sugar, and almond extract).


3.  Scoop cherry filling into each ramkin, and top with crumb mixture.


4.  Bake for 45 minutes.
